Home Schooling
As we had spoken about in our last article, due to the quarantine, most of us parents have had to homeschool our children for the last three months. Over the summer, there are ways to keep the knowledge they’ve retained fresh in their minds for the upcoming school year, and still make it fun.
My son, who is going into 5th grade this upcoming school year, really enjoys listening to audio books! I can see his imagination running wild, building the characters and sets of the story, as he listens. He has an extremely short attention span and I have found thag this is a wonderful learning tool. Whether it’s running through multiplication tables on the way to get ice cream or playing “Eye Spy” during a hike, you can keep your child’s mind stimulated this summer. There are tons of free online activities available as well. Some of the free online sources that we enjoy using in our household are: Coolmathgames.com, Prodigy, Iknowit.com, Reflex, and Razkids.com.
I hope this helps all of you parents out there.
