New York Film Critics Online Cinema Acknowledgements for 2013

Well, the official announcement for the New York Film Critics Online critics’ awards were revealed and there is no doubt about what they considered (and desired) for top honors in the current movie season for 2013. In fact, this was such an incredible year for excellent cinema and big screen stellar performances that it was difficult for movie critics nationwide to determine what suited their cinematic fancies for artistic purposes.
It should not be too much of a surprise to see that the New York Film Critics Online bestowed their top movie honors for the harrowing and heralded historical brutal drama 12 Years a Slave, the Steve McQueen-directed epic that has been gaining notoriety for its raw and poignant look at America’s past ugliness with race relations through the haunting indignities of institutionalized slavery. Deservedly, 12 Years a Slave won for best picture as well as best actor (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and best supporting actress (Lupita Nyong’o) from the same film.
