VOLKSWAGEN ID. BUGGY CONCEPT TO MAKE ITS NORTH AMERICAN DEBUT IN NYC

Volkswagen’s high-tech vehicle for summer, the ID. BUGGY, will make its North American debut at the New York International Automobile Show next month. The new car was designed to provide a unique experience when driving so a fixed roof and doors were deliberately dispensed with. While a pure 2-seater, the concept car can also be converted to a 2+2- seater and shows a new leisure-oriented facet of electric mobility.
A lithium ion rechargeable battery supplies the electricity for the ID. BUGGY’s 150 kW/204 PS electric drive motor in the rear. An additional electric motor in the front axle is also conceivable in order to realize an all- wheel drive with an “electric propshaft”. The concept is based on the modular electric drive matrix and demonstrates the broad spectrum of emission-free mobility that can be achieved within the Volkswagen brand.
